What are the basic tenets of faith? -

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
  • A person is born again only if they accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior.
  • Unless a person is born again, they will not enter Heaven.
  • The ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as outlined in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 are still in operation today and available to all believers.

What Denomination is the school?    

GMBC is not associated with any denomination.


Are the extension campuses near me?    

Presently, there are no extension campuses. However, all courses are offered via correspondence.


Is correspondence Available?    

Correspondence is available, but nothing can duplicate the experience gained in the actual classroom setting. Therefore, it is highly recommended that if at all possible students enroll to take courses on-campus.


Is this a four-year school?    

Yes, GMBC offers a four-year curriculum.


Is the school accredited?    

Presently, GMBC is similar to many other Christian Colleges in that it is not accredited. However, it is possible that in the future, GMBC may apply for accreditation with a nationally recognized accrediting agency.


What degrees can be earned?    

GMBC is located in Ohio and the Ohio Board of Regents has refused to recognize various Christian colleges and universities and the degrees they issue, regardless of the state in which they are located and regardless of their accreditation. Additionally, the Ohio Board of Regents has ruled that any non-recognized schools are forbidden to use the word "degree" in association with any diploma or certificate that is issued within the state. Should any such non-recognized schools proceed in using the word "degree", they would face the possibility of legal action against them.


What training does your faculty have?    

GMBC instructors have various levels of education and ministry experience.


What is the age limit for enrolling?    

A person under 18 or still in high school must have a signed permit before enrolling. That permit is included with the application.


Is an high school diploma or GED required?    

NO.


Do you give credit for life experience?    

Currently, life experience credit is not being extended. However, that is under evaluation.


Are credits earned transferrable to other schools?    

That is totally dependant upon the policies of the school to which a person would submit their credits for transfer. Generally, each college or university establishes its own criteria for determining whether or not credits will be accepted.


Who is Dr. James Martin and what are his qualifications?    

Dr. Martin is a graduate of Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida. He holds a Masters Degree in Pastoral Ministry and a Ph.D. in Christian Theology. He is a former professor with Life Christian University and is the past Dean of Academics for Covenant Christian University. He has been in ministry since 1989 and is the pastor of Grace Christian Center in Dayton, Ohio.


Do you accept credits from other schools?    

Credits from other schools may be submitted and will be evaluated for possible acceptance.


Do you have dorms?    

GMBC does not presently have dorms. Any students moving to the area would need to find housing.


How are the courses taught?    

One course is taught for four consecutive weeks, one night each week. Three, forty-five minute class session will be held each of the four weeks. The next course begins the week after the four weeks have concluded. This means that a student is focused on one subject at a time.

Correspondence students will receive a course packet. Each packet will contain the course syllabus, text book, exam, audio cassettes of the classes, and graded material from the prior course.


How long has GMBC existed?    

After nearly three years of planning and prayer, GMBC officially opened for classes in September of 2000


What version of the Bible is used?    

For the sake of continuity, the King James Version is required for reading assignments. However, students have the freedom to refer to and read other versions in addition to the King James.


What courses are offered?

How much time is required for each course?    

Each course requires one exam and one research paper. All courses are designed to interfere as little as possible with family and job responsibilities.


Will I be ordained after graduation?    

Grace Ministries Bible College does not issue any type of ministry credentials.


Can I take courses over the Internet?    

At this time, the web site is not developed for internet courses. However, as the web site is continually developed it is something which may be included in the future for correspondence students.


What kind of degree will I have when I am finished?   

Credits issued meet the standard academic requirements for issuing degrees, even though the term "degree" is not used. Students will receive diplomas recognizing the completion of each year of studies.


How much does it cost for tuition, books, etc?   

GMBC does not charge students for tuition, text books, or audio tapes of classes. However, all students are expected to seek God for His instructions and give offerings in support of GMBC.

Can I take the classes for personal growth and not for credit?    

Yes.... Please read our Letter of Introduction for more information on this.


Can someone who is in prison enroll?    

Yes! Inmates in prisons throughout the country are enrolled as correspondence students.
IMPORTANT NOTE:  CORRESPONDENCE COURSES INCLUDE AUDIO CASSETTE TAPES or CD's. IF YOU ARE INCARCERATED AND UNABLE TO RECEIVE AND/OR LISTEN TO TAPES/CD's, IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO TAKE ANY COURSES. PLEASE BE SURE YOU CLEARLY UNDERSTAND YOUR INSTITUTION'S POLICIES REGARDING AUDIO TAPES/CD's BEFORE COMPLETING AND RETURNING AN APPLICATION. DO NOT APPLY TO ENROLL AS A STUDENT IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO LISTEN TO TAPES or CD's!


Can people who live in other nations enroll?    

Yes! We presently have many students from several nations taking courses via correspondence.
